Newly appointed Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Chairman Ram Sewak Sharma assumed charge on Monday.
A 1978-batch IAS officer of the Jharkhand cadre, Sharma has been selected to head the TRAI for three years. He succeeds Rahul Khullar who retired on May 14.
Sharma, who was earlier serving as the Secretary of the Department of Electronics and IT, has played key role in implementing Aadhaar project. He was also the brain behind designing the roadmap for the Government’s ambitious Digital India project.
